hey shiir,

test shot lang iyan ha-baka akala mo yan na ang standard ng RUE!! but seriously, congratulations on a job well done(although your job is not done yet). you have so far handled all the pressures that we have thrown at you like a seasoned pro. i'm sure you'll come out of the boot camp a different fotog with a different mindset and attitude.

you better believe it tony! this kid is a very conscientious worker! kaya nga lang you have to feed him every minute. he's become such a spoiled brat! seriously he's so eager to come back and share what he has learned with the guys. sabi niya those models should be forewarned- iba na raw ang shiir na babalik!

This is truly amazing, Shiir. But then, I really shouldn't be surprised knowing how well you perform even when you are only given 3 minutes to complete 50 shots with your model, eh? Your stints at OWG really have showed how well you can do under pressure. As for his techniques in PS, again, I can only say that he has now surpassed his previous level...hehehe.

My only comment here is that I wish you had reflected a little more light into the face of the model on the right in order to show her neck as it seems that her head is detached.

Sample photos nga lang OK na sa akin eh, ano pa kaya kung RUE standards na :D

Ayuko na dito sa Davao, tataba ako hehehe!
Mukhang di lang portrait ginawa natin kundi FOODTRIP din after food shoots hehee

Teaser lang yan using two lights..Bagong approached using selective lighting..
One per model muna kasi mga anak yan ng friend ni Basil eh..they are not model actually...

Naku kung hindi happy yan matagal na ako pinadeport pa Manila hehehhe

Kaso yong sa OWG, I'm not taking 50shot/3mins hehehe! tipid ako kaya madami na ang 10 shoots ko...Syempre most of them pangit hehehe..Mabuti na makatsamba ng isa :D

Mukha bang detached? Patay tayo sa model na ito hehe!
Actually sinadya ko talagang gamitan ng grid snoot for the selctive lighting then may softbox sa likod..The rest were black, kaso dahil sa fog machine mahirap hulihin na di matakpan ang faces nila..

Next time bigyan ko ng pansin yang neck baka mapagkamalang pugot..Thanx sa tip Gus! :D

naughty, naughty, naughty!!

lumabas lang ako sandali, nagawa mo na nag obra maestrang ito. worse is- i heard you charged this lovely davao couple an obscene amount of money. these are my high school classmates and they will be our hosts for next week!! lagot ka sa akin!

in all honesty though, i like the very very stable and sound composition and expression-to think, there is almost no PP except the mono. for chrissakes! you'll be teaching portrait photography yourself pretty soon!

Mabundat ka dito sa mga restau like:
Tsuru, Hanoi and Sagay at Davao City mismo..
Food trip lagi kami dito kasi lahat ng mga yan ang may ari classmate ni Basil hehe!
Kaya pati foodshoots namin libre na rin hahahaha..

Di yan B/W Tony, it's Duotones-mas nagagandahan ako pag ganun..
May shoot ako dyan na may damit ang guy, kaso may kulang eh kaya pinahubad ko ang damit para may drama at malakas ang impact..
Mahirap gawing seryuso mga yan laging nakatawa..

Lights? hehehe Yan ang top secret ng 358 Rue Glamour hahahaha! Visit ka nalang sa Studio ng 358 pag na-i-launch na. :D

Punta kami next week sa Samal at Talikod Island, Davao City..
Siguro magdala kami ng Dabawenyo models para magamit namin ni Basil..
Punta kayo dito sama mo si Gus :D

This is the lighting secret of 358 Rue Glamor...have a light as big as a satellite dish and a reflector the size of a trampoline...LOL!

Oh you better believe it gus! like i said this kid is a diamond in the rough-such impressive raw talents. he's quick and his photographic smarts is equalled only by his work ethics- the precise things i was looking for in a person who may actually someday run our operations nationwide.his davao experience was more than a baptism of fire. handling 30 actual paying customers a day instilled confidence in himself.he's consistent, resilient, not a whiner and he's multi-faceted- actually gave me a haircut couple of days ago. now, what more can i ask for!

That's how clever the Master Basil is!
Laki ng utang na loob ko dyan..bukod sa pagtuturo, mga batch mates nya naging friends ko na din..
Biro nyo libre lagi sa mga foods! Gusto ko ng umuwi ng Maynila, tumataba na ako dito..Basil papauwiin mo na kaya ako? :D

Nakakagulat pati lighting brands nila Señor..
Panalo sa gamit..ang prob lang, paano na yong Canon 350D ko eh pinapagamit nila yong Nikon D80 or Nikon D200..
